The Media Cirus

Yesterday was quite a circus! I couldn't believe the coverage of this inauguration. Alot of attention was made of the fact that he is the first black president. That is great, but lets get past that. Still I heard multiple racist statements made, mostly from residents at the nursing home. Cotton pickers, monkeys on flagpoles, there shouldn't be a black president, but I'm not racial. Overall however I would say the mood was positive and upbeat. Nothing like seeing a 91 year old white woman beaming in glee at the sight of Barack Obama swearing in as the President of the United States!
I heard they might of been up until 4 AM probably just got to bed and have to get up in a few minutes! :)

  1. I am sure they had the get their money's worth, knowing how much it cost. Still, was nice to see on TV everyone enjoying themselves.
    God Bless.

  3. Good morning. I love the picture at the top of your blog. Yeah, hopefully we can NOW get over the RACE thing. It makes me mad to hear people even bring it up. Especially mad if I'm accused of being racist when I'm not. So it IS noteworthy to mention that he IS the first Black American to be president so lots of hoopla SHOULD be made over that. I hope people begin to realize that not every white person is racist just b/c they are white. And that ALL of us need to embrace what is right not just WHITE. Hoping we can all work as one and drop the racist issue. Race just should not be an issue at all! Amen? lol

  4. I've noticed quite a bit of "closet racism." Like what you alluded to..."I'm not a racist, BUT..."

Oh well, it's a new era in America, so it's time to get to work!

  5. aww bless that 91 year old ladies heart! Race is still an issue in many areas and its not going to go away overnight. It could take a hundred years but whatever it takes is what it takes. Just because people demand that it be gone and done with wont make that happen. Eventually though it will be gone, I have faith that will happen.
I'm glad to have witnessed a historical enauguration!
